Graf Zeppelin LZ-127 First Round the World Flight with letter/signatures
Graf Zeppelin LZ-127 - First Round the World Flight with letter & signatures. Graf Zeppelin Round the World Flight (Lakehurst-Friedrichshafen-Tokyo-Los Angeles-Lakehurst) 08/05/1929 - 08/29/1929. It went from Lakehurst to Friedrichshafen to Tokyo to Los Angeles to Lakehurst.

The cover received a magenta First Round-The-World Flight cachet and a green flight/Received cachet backstamp on 08/29/1929 - Friedrichshafen. The cover has a green Lakehurst flight cachet (08/29/1929) on the back. This is a nice example of a Round- the- World cover with nice franking! This cover had an interesting enclosure! It is a piece of Letterhead stationery from the Chisolm & Chapman brokerage company in NYC.

On the stationery are 33 signatures. Several of them are identifiable: Baseball player Joe Bush, Henry Ford, Al Smith and racketeer Frank Calise. Due to the number of signatures, this must have been a banquet or special dinner party probably held by the Hoffmans whose names appear on the Corner card and stationery. These folks are probably part of the 1920s & early 30s who's who in NYC.
